I Love You

I wrote this poem about you, And all of the things that you taught me to do. You taught me too cook, and you taught me too clean, You even taught me not to be mean. Even though it was futile, You made me feel better when I was in denial. You make me laugh, You make me smile, I can feel your love from miles and miles. You teach me things like right from wrong, Also things to make me be strong. You've fed me, put clothes on my back, and a roof over my head. You're also the one who gave me this comfortable bed. You treat me as if your the oyster and I'm the pearl, I know you do this because I'm forever your baby girl. You're everything that a dad should be, And everything that I'll want in a man who'll take care of me. Now we are forever joined at the heart, With this bond no one can tear us apart. Because you are apart of me, And I'm apart of you, We'll always be friends so let our love remain true. This is my loving dad, And that is true, This is how I'll tell him I love you. So even when the time comes to part, You'll always be with me in spirit, mind, body, and heart.
