Several times I need to write quickly
Even when I don't develop a plot
I like to keep my imagination in shape
So I just jot
I may write just a small amount
Maybe only a sentence followed by a dot
I enjoy keeping my mind sharp
So I just jot
A line leads to a stanza then a poem
Something that I was taught
To use my thoughts to create
So I just jot
