Burning Without A Flame

Whispering winds over mountains Embers carried in zephyr Both stood watching Forests burn to lone trees Ash pillowed the earth Ink stained paper Blood stained skin Souls akin In the midst of dusk Diamonds beckoned to each other Glimmering above Laid upon the ash Fingers interlaced And the bones of buried men Nurtured the saplings Emersion from ash Thunderous silence Heartbeats pulsing in hands Windows peering in Burning in a fire without a flame All the while trees grew all the same
