Silence

Walking among my old friends in the silence of the early day I reflect on the open field scattered with stone A few trees dance silently in a light breeze As I reach the top of a rise I look back at the serene display before me I see my friends so close but far away I wonder if they know I'm with them Like a bird perched high above I watch and listen to the tranquil scene below Many have passed this way and more to follow As Day moves to Eve I wander among the silent stones Taking in the history that lays before me I wonder how many know of this place of honor or care This place is the future for all How you get here is on you Take heed
