The Moment I Knew I Loved You

The moment I knew I loved you I was driving in that car A muffled voice went on beside me The music played loudly but seemed afar For that I had no care My thoughts only were of you A vivid montage in my mind raved yellow, green, and blue Flashback to the first time I saw that smile, and all the times to come Did fill my heart with butterflies and in my stomach-twirled all around And now we’re at a campfire- and I don’t know what to say But my cheeks hold up a smile when you continue anyway And you slump over me, “drunken,” and press your cheek against mine Thought this was merely the alcohol oh boy how I was blind When you put your arm around me thoughts were racing in my mind Leaned up against your car and we gazed at the stars We both knew what came next I could feel your eyes shift onto me in return mine shifted too and when you kissed me - my god I did not know what to do. The car ride home was perfect bliss I tried to hide my giddiness And on that ride I had to fool myself to gather the courage for one last kiss I’d like to thank you for these days And all the days to come See choosing you had been my greatest fear but has had the greatest outcome I love you more than words can say, I hope you know this too And I will always feel you, my love, in yellow, green, and blue ♡ ♡
