Thunderstorms on a sleepless night

Thunderstorm on a sleepless night By Nathan A As I’m lying in bed wide awake, The smell of rain is in the air, I listen to the thunder roar, As the lightning fills the sky, The thunder amplifies between, Each boom and strike of lightning, Raindrops begin to hit the ground, Raising little puffs of dust into the air, Then growing with much intensity, The tree’s start bending by the winds, The rain is like a symphony, So beautifully performed, By an Orchestra in the night, The pitch perfect storm, It starts out so soft and low, And then the thunder booms, The lightning flashes all about, The thunder shakes my room, As quick as the storm arrived, Suddenly it’s gone, Somehow I feel kind of sad, It came and went so soon.
