"Here", he shoves a coffee cup at me. I accept and sip. Delicious. "Thanks." I couldn't help the happy feeling that flowed through me at the taste of coffee. This was always our thing, or it used to be. "Remember when we used to come here?" I smile at his ability to read my thoughts. "All the time." I laugh then and nod because we did visit this place a lot. "When I went to the counter the lady asked me if we'd just have our usuals. Even after all this time they still remember..." He stops, as if he's thinking of the old days too, back when we thought we'd always be close. Back when he lived just around the corner. " We were so in love with this coffee shop. You were definitely addicted." He grins, so do I. "Hey, I'm not denying it." I laugh. "You were worse than me though." "Sure I was. I remember this one night when you couldn't sleep because you'd had so much caffeine. You spent the whole night reading." "And I looked horrible the next day - which you kindly pointed out!" "Yeah... sorry about that but at least it came from me right?" "It was so long ago now I suppose I have to forgive you." I let out an exasperated sigh and he mutters " lucky for me."
