ERRANDS (5 line stanza)

I need to run my errands today They are all along the straight and easy road that runs from home to the last stop My neighbor came running from her abode Seems she has forgotten her garage code She had given it to me, for just in case Problem averted, time to go First stop is the department store to return a curling iron that heats up way too slow My son calls-he needs his nyckelharpa bow I’ll run back and get the bow to school, which is back closer to home Then I will get back to the department store Uh Oh! Daughter calls for her megaphone, “It’s in the backseat”and “Please bring it to Jerome’s” Jerome lives past the department store Closer to the dentist who was my next stop In fact! I am due there now! I call and change the appointment and run into the gift shop To buy my husband a riding crop On to Jerome’s to drop off my daughters megaphone She is in Cheer, if you’re curious Now to my last stop, my husband’s shop I am very late! Hope he is not furious! He calls and asks me to meet him at the Epicurean Well…I did not get any of my original errands done! Tomorrow is another day I’ll drive that straight and easy road As long as nobody leads me astray I will get up early and get on my way
