Moments shape and decisions conclude
No matter the context, story or mood
Mine is one of sadness and pain
Life once thought of, failure and stain
The battle to fight was lost over time
Beaten and battered a mindset of mine
Peace was sought through permanent sleep
The pain of a man too enter the deep
The Devil arrived to usher the soul
To ferry and boatman collecting of toll
My time wasn’t then or even today
Future and happiness, success as they say
Pride in oneself, though weakened by cause
Dwell on a positive, the negative a pause
Moving forward today is a a shift
Each passing second consider a gift
