Erasmus

Erasmus the snake, the hero so bright, Kaleidoscope dreams, shifting through night. Watched by the moon, as thoughts gently sway, Cherished, admired, in a strange, timeless way. Young yet so wise, dead in the heart, A world gone awry, all discord apart. As it throbs and it hurts, it seems to be there, An ache never fades, as it whispers despair. Snow melts the ground with a paradox freeze, Lost in the challenge, incessant unease. Raindrops that dance, refusing to flee, The ice smells of memories, weaving its plea. As the fire roars near, the surface ignites, Challenging wounds fueled by unending flights. A lingering violence, consumed by the heat, Vanishing thoughts in a dangerous beat. Taming the burden, so arduous, immense, Solid we stand, while our hearts grow more tense. A quest to be elsewhere, where sorrow departs, In the spiraling dance of a million lost hearts.
