The Nameless One

I came before you, yet you don’t know me. I groomed you, yet you forget my dead’s. I gave you freewill yet you chose to live like a slave. I gave you light but the darkness is now your home. I am the king in your play, yet the complete story remains unfamiliar to you. I am the word you speak, But coming from your mouth I no longer have power, I am just an echo. I am your good and your bad, yet your scale is never balance. I am the sea, however, your pollution is causing harm to my habitats. I am that I am, Who am I?
