No one would notice if she floated away,
No hand would reach out - none to help her stay.
She fights hard, but she does so alone,
A heart once filled with love, now hardened into stone.
She gives her all just to stay afloat,
Reaching out to silence, an empty shore, no rope.
She wants to ask for help, but won’t allow herself -
To need would mean weakness, and she can’t be that to herself.
The waves rise higher with each passing night,
Each pulling tide - a harder fight.
So there she goes, carried by the stream,
Her mouth opens wide - no sound, no scream.
