Waking arrives
Slumber no more survives
Eyes fighting to not succumb to sleep
As I attend to the day with tasks deep
Arise to the abundant good all about me
Yet still I am tired and weary
Waking, the morning brings joy
Waking, all this I want to enjoy
But my energy fails so often, but still
We know the times will fade fast until
There is no more morning giggling and song
Nor shouts of celebration that go on so long
These days are full, full of life and love
A gift from above
So give us energy, patience, life
