When You Sleep

No one really knows, What happens when you lay your head. What happens in the bed? Some may say, you fall asleep, and dream of great things to nibble on and eat. Others say the spirits roam, At your house and down the road. Some may say the spirits bless, Others say they curse your rest. I say the fae folk play. They dance in your ear All night and day. Their voices will lull you to sleep, Then they have their feast to eat. They start at the toenails, And nibble their way up. They end the night once They pluck your eyes And speak their stolen lies. Whatever happens when you sleep, The creatures sure get a nice feast to eat. The fae folk play, the spirits roam. The sugar plums dance all alone. For when you sleep, they come to play. They come to nibble on all day.
