The Sad Clown

Alone I am No one beside me No one around My walls are high Guarded I stay No one can reach me It’s better this way Quiet and still No one around to make me feel Betrayed abandonment was my prize Lies and rumors you cut to size You sought another by your side Tripping over your feet and full of pride Running with a new life and a better crowd How this new one made you proud Shinning like stars in the night sky You never thought to ask, why The comet you sought and the life you yearned Grasping with your hands Oh how it burned The stars were mere dimmed lights The crowd was canned laughter Turns out , the new one Was a disguised disaster The stage on which you played Crumbled and did fade The curtains came down And all that was left was you, a circus clown
